John David “JD” Stout 64, of Carolina Beach, passed away suddenly May 8, 2013. He was born in Sanford, NC, October 7, 1948 to the late Johnie C. and Lilly Stout. He was preceded in death by his two sisters Bobbie and Libby Teal of Lemon Springs, NC.
John retired in 1987 as Senior Chief Petty Officer after honorably serving 20 years in the US Navy.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy of Carolina Beach, his son John of Wilmington, NC, his daughter Chandra Lane of Virginia Beach, Va, and five grandchildren. Also his favorite nephew, Johnny Brooks of Lemon Springs, NC., niece Debbie Friedman of Sanford, NC, sister-in-law Marlene Evans (Donnie) of Purvis, MS, brothers-in law Richard and Robert Pfeilmeier of Wilmington, NC, and many other nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by his pet dog Zeke, (named for his Navy buddy, Michael Krawzcyk of Whitehall, MI).
JD was a charter boat captain at Carolina Beach in the 1990’s. He loved to go fishing, camping, and was an avid NASCAR fan.
He was a substitute and after school teacher with New Hanover County Elementary school system.
John and Nancy met in NJ at a country western club while his ship was in dry dock in Philadelphia. John, “Dave” as Nancy was introduced to him, loved to dance and swept her off her feet. They knew right away they were soul mates and got married 10 months later on July 4th 1981 and have shared their lives as best friends ever since.
He will be missed by his many fishing friends, acquaintances and neighbors. JD’s smile will be missed by everyone.
His organs were donated through the DMV donor program.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
