Island Montessori School Needs Public Input

Dear Editor:
A group of local community leaders, business owners, educators and parents have recently formed a board of directors, which is applying to start a Montessori charter school in Pleasure Island.
If approved by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction, the charter school will open in August 2013 and will be a tuition-free, public school serving students in grades K through 2, using a Montessori curriculum. The school plans to eventually expand up to grade 8. For more information about Montessori education, charter schools, and Island Montessori School, please visit www.IslandMontessoriSchool.com.
We value the community's input and are asking your readers to please take a moment to complete our brief online survey at http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/XRF76PY. The survey has just nine questions, does not ask for personal information, and takes less than five minutes to complete.
We are also holding a Q&A Session at Surfhouse Cafe, 604 N. Lake Park Blvd., on Thursday, April 5, from 9AM to 12PM and 5PM to 7PM. Anyone who is interested in getting more information about Island Montessori School is welcomed to stop by, enjoy a cup of coffee, meet one of our board members, and learn more about Montessori education and charter schools.
