Community Center Thanks All Who Helped Annual BBQ Event

Dear Editor,
The members of the Kure Beach Community Center Committee would like to thank the many people who helped us with our annual barbeque on Saturday, August 18.
The delicious barbecue we served came from and Middle of the Island Catering. It was a great hit with our customers. Big Daddy's Restaurant in Kure Beach donated the coleslaw. The servers heard several comments about how colorful and tasty the slaw was. Thank you, so much Middle of Island and Big Daddy's for providing these two vital menu items! We hope everyone will support these two businesses.
Next, we want to thank Gilbert and Karen Alphin, at The Blue Marlin, in Kure Beach. They provided us with as many bags of ice as we needed, free of charge. We really appreciate that, and hope that everyone will support The Blue Marlin.
To Sonny Beeker, and his fine crew at the Public Works Department, thank you so much for setting up the heavy tables before the barbecue. This is such a time saver (and "back saver") for us!
We could not put on this event without the many community volunteers who do so much to help us each year. Thank you, friends and neighbors for all your time and efforts.
This year Kure Beach Mayor Dean Lambeth and Councilman Chuck Keener helped to serve food. Nancy Hewitt, helped with all the sorting and arranging of delicious desserts. Thanks for your support, Dean, Chuck, and Nancy!
Every year, the husbands of the Kure Beach Community Center Committee women work very hard all day and into the evening. They pitch in and do anything and everything that needs to be done. You fellows are awesome, and we love you.
Many motel managers in Kure Beach and Carolina Beach allowed us to post our flyers for this event.
We are so grateful to you for helping us to get the word out about our barbecue.
This barbecue is our big fund-raising event of the year, and everyone mentioned here helps us to keep the Kure Beach Community Center operating in the black. THANK YOU AGAIN FROM THE BOTTOM OF OUR HEARTS.
Please remember that our community center is available to rent for your special event, at a very reasonable cost. You may call the center at 458-8944 and leave a message.
One of the eleven members of the community center committee will get back to you promptly!
Sincerely,
Kure Beach Community Center
