10th Annual Steve Haydu St. Patrick’s Lo Tide Run

I hope you were here for the 10th Annual Steve Haydu St. Patrick’s Lo Tide Run held this past Saturday. It was an INCREDIBLE Day. I know when I walked up Cape Fear Blvd early, I almost lost my breath when I saw the crowd. IT WAS AWESOME!! You guys just blow me away. We had thousands of participants, over 2100, dressed in some of the most St. Patricky outfits seen on this planet. The party started early. There were 10K Racers, Zumba Zumbaers, 5K racers and then the 5K Partiers, I mean walkers. Daniel Seaman of WWAY was our emcee and he did a FANTASTIC job. Colin Hackman of WECT fame kept score and presented awards. Unlike most races though that end after awards, here on Pleasure Island this is when the parties really started. Hurricane Alley was mobbed, in fact all the local pubs (Irish Term for Party Place) were cranking. And then we headed to the After Party at The Lazy Pirate and it was TERRIFIC, there was the Cory Hunt Band, the food was delicious and the drinks were definitely flowing. It was one great party. A tip of the Derby to The Management and Staff of The Lazy Pirate for  a job well done.
We owe a big big Thank You to the Town of Carolina Beach and Carolina Beach Police Department for making sure that the course and everyone was safe.  And we owe our Sponsors, the Participants, the hundreds of volunteers and the fantastic All Volunteer Board of Directors a huge THANK YOU. The work these folks did to make this day a reality is, I believe the word is, PRICELESS!!!
I know that the money we raised will have a major impact on the lives of some local families that are in the midst of some of life’s toughest battles. It is on their behalf that I bid you from the very core of my being THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU.  I cannot wait to see you guys next year. I am so proud to call you my friends.
