Join Michael’s Seafood for their 14th Annual Shrimp Open Golf Tournament on Monday, April 16 at Pine Valley Country Club. The golf tournament is a much-anticipated annual event to raise money to benefit equally the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and the Duke University Medical Center Lung Transplant Program. Slots are still available, so anyone wishing to play is urged to register as soon as possible. Cost to play in the tournament is $100 per person, or $400 per team. Michael and Shelly McGowan first organized the golf tournament in 1998 where they raised an impressive $2,500 that first year. Through the years, Michael’s Seafood has given over $425,000 to research.
Sponsorship opportunities are still available. A donation of $1,100 will get you a “Team Captain Sponsor” title, a team entry, and complimentary tickets to the Shrimp-a-Roo post-party. A donation of $700 will get you a “Captain Sponsor” title, a team entry, and complimentary tickets to the post-party. And a donation of $250 will get you to a “Blue Tee Sponsor” title. They are also asking the community to donate themed basket items and other items for the player’s goodie bags. The shotgun start of the Shrimp Open Golf Tournament will be at 10:00 a.m. at Pine Valley Country Club. It is an 18-hole, Captain’s Choice tournament. Afterward, the annual Shrimp-a-Roo post-party will be held at Michael’s Seafood at 1206 N Lake Park Blvd. Tickets to the Shrimp-a-Roo are available for a $25 donation.
