The Ashley High School Varsity Baseball team before playing New Hanover.

• 3/27 – Ashley 5 Greenville Rose 6 - The Eagles came up a run short on the road to a undefeated 10-0 Greenville Rose. After being held scoreless in the top of the 1st inning the Ramparts were able to take a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the inning. However the Eagles were able to take a 1 run lead in the top of the 2nd inning after picking up 3 runs. The lead would be short lived as Greenville posted 2 more runs in the bottom of the 3rd inning to re take the lead 4-3. The Eagles were able to tie up the game in the top of the 4th at 4-4 before being able to take the lead in the top of the 5th inning. In the bottom of the 6th inning the Ramparts were able to pick up 2 runs on a 2 out 2-strike pitch which drove in the final two runs in the 6th inning.
The game didn’t see the 7th inning due to time. The Eagles fall to 8-2 Overall and 0-1 in the Conference. HIGHLIGHTS: Sam Cavenaugh went 1 for 4 with a Solo Home Run, Shane Sheppard went 2 for 4, Pantelis Miliotis went 1 for 2 with a run and a RBI, Chris Hicks went 1 for 3 with a RBI, Justin Ray went 1 for 3 with a run, Eric Eason went 1 for 3 with a pair of RBI’s.
• 3/29 – Ashley 6 New Hanover 4 – The Eagles Varsity Baseball team was able to get back on track after their loss to Greenville Rose, defeating New Hanover 6-4 at Legion Stadium this past Thursday Night. Four first-inning runs helped Ashley to a 6-4 win over New Hanover at New Hanover on Friday. The Eagles 4 run 1st inning put the Eaglesup and they never got behind from that point. New Hanover picked up a run in the bottom of the 1st inning, but the Eagles brought their lead back up to 4 runs after picking up another run in the top of the 2nd inning. New Hanover was able to make it a 2 run game after picking up 2 more runs in the bottom of the 3rd inning. Ashley was able to pick up another run in the top of the 4th inning giving them a 3 run lead 6-3.The Eagles only allowed one more run in the bottom of the 6th inning giving them the 6-4 win. HIGHLIGHTS: Chris Hicks increased his batting average to .455 after going 2 for 4 with a double, and a run; Sam Cavanaugh improved his batting average to .400 after going 2 for 4 with a pair of RBI’s; Shane Sheppard went 1 for 2 with a run and a RBI; Christian Wolfe improved his batting average to .448 after going 1 for 3 with and pair of runs; Brian Stokes went 1 for 4 with a RBI’s; and Chance Sheppard and Clayton McGee each had a run.
