Ashley Lady Eagles Varsity Soccer pick up win over Greenville Rose 3-1 and tie New Hanover 1-1

• 3/27 – Ashley 3 Greenville Rose 1 - The Lady Eagles soccer team opened up conference play with a 1 to 3 win over J.H. Rose.  The Eagles dominated play early on controlling the pace of the game.  Charlotte Pearsall found the back of the net putting the Eagles up 1-0.  Rose responded with a goal in the first half off a long ball leading to a break away.  The Lady Eagles worked on switching fields and maintaining possession in the second half.  A dynamic throw from Senior, Courtney Fasano, led to an Eagle goal by senior, co-captain, Kara Bennett.  Meaghan Noxon, senior, co-captain, was able to capitalize on an outside shot.  The win brings the Eagles to an overall record of 4-3-1 and 1-0-0 in conference play. 
• 3/29 – Ashley 1 New Hanover 1 - The Lady Eagles soccer team traveled to Legion stadium to take on the New Hanover Wildcats Thursday night.  The Wildcats scored first off of a corner kick in the 17th minute of the first half.  Keeper, Morgan Davis, came up huge for the Eagles as the half wound down to keep the game viable.  At half time, captains stepped up to energize and motivate the team.
 Charlotte Pearsall scored in the first minute of the second half to bring the game to a 1-1 tie.  The Lady Eagles dominated in the second half and had several scoring opportunities, but were unable to capitalize, taking the game to overtime.  After twenty minutes of overtime play, the score was still held at 1-1.  The Lady Eagles truly left all their energy and heart on the field.
The team will resume play on April 10th hosting Laney after spring break.
