Varsity Girls Soccer fall to Hoggard 1-0 but pick up win over Laney 5-3

• 5/1 – Ashley 0 Hoggard 1 - The Lady Eagles soccer team hosted the Hoggard Vikings on Tuesday for senior night.  It was a battle from the whistle – both teams having scoring opportunities.  The Eagles were poised to score off a powerful shot from senior, co-captain, Meaghan Noxon that just skimmed the crossbar to go over the goal.  The upper hand in the game shifted back and forth, but at the close of the fist half, the Lady Eagles were picking up intensity and level of play.  The half came to a close at 0-0.  In the second half, the Vikings scored early off of a cross.  Despite all effort, the Lady Eagles were unable to score and the game ended in a 1-0 win for the Vikings.  This brings the Lady Eagles to an overall record of 8-6-2 and 5-3-1 in conference play. 
• 5/3 – Ashley 5 Laney 3 – The Ladies jumped out to a big lead early in this game and were able to take a l3-0 lead at halftime. After halftime the Girls were able to pick up their 4th goal in the 42nd minute, but allowed Laney their 1st goal 3 minutes later. Each team picked up another goal before time ran out giving Ashley the win 5-3. The Ladies finished out their Regular Season with a 9-6-2 record and were 6-3-1 in Conference Play and will have played in the Regional Tournament on Tuesday Night. HIGHLIGHTS: Kara Bennett 2,  Erica Buchannan, Paige Laverick,and Callie Long. Courtney Fasano had 2 assist and Kara Bennett had 1. In goal Morgan Davis had 6 saves.
