• 5/15 – Ashley 8 South View 2 - The Ladies got off to a good start in this game scoring half their runs in the top of the 1st inning setting the tone for the rest of the game.
The inning started off for the Eagles with Lead-off Batter Taylor Carter reaching on a error by the South View pitcher. Harrell then flied out followed by a double by Shytonia Williams, putting runner’s on 2nd and 3rd. Drew Dickson scored Ashley’s 1st run on a RBI double, followed by a 3-Run Homer by Drew’s sister Schae giving Ashley a 4-0 lead. South View was able to pick up its first run against Harrell in the bottom of the 3rd inning, but the Eagles would score 4 more unanswered runs giving them a 8-1 led going into the bottom of the 7th inning. The South View Tigers were hoping for a big comeback and mounted one, but the Eagles were able to end it at 1 run.
The Screaming Eagles won by a final score of 8-2 advancing them into the 3rd Round of the Playoffs and improving their overall record to 18-5 on the season, while South View fell to 20-6 with 3 of those loses coming against the Eagles.

HIGHLIGHTS: Crystal Harrell improved her average to .325 after going 2 for 4 with her 4th double of the year 7th and 8th RBI of the season, on the mound she improved her era to 1.3 and her record to 18-4, she also recorded 5 strikeouts bringing her total up to 127 on the season and allowed no earned runs; Sehae Dickson improved their record to .436 on the season after going 1 for 3 with a 3 run homer (her 7th Home Run on the season and her 34th RBI’s), she also scored 2 runs (19); Taylor Carter went 2 for 5; Shytonia Williams went 2 for 4 with a double (6) and a run (8); Aliza Hollomen went 1 for 3; Kaitlyn Adams went 1 for 3 with a run (11) and a double (4); Drew Dickson improved her batting average to .427 after going 2 for 4 with a run (32); Jordan Parker went 1 for 1 with a RBI; and Bailey Williams went 1 for 4.
• 5/18 – Ashley 4 West Johnston 2 – The Ladies Softball team was able to advance into the 4th Round of the State Tournament after their 4-2 win over West Johnston this past Friday Night at home.
The Ladies found themselves in a close game that saw limited offense (8 total base runners) until the bottom of the 6th inning. That’s when the errors started rolling in. After reaching on a walk Jordan Parker she quickly made her way to 3rd base after 2 singles. Then Shytonia Williams got a RBI on a sacrifice fly. Parker was able to score after the ball was dropped at the plate. The inning was almost over for the Wild Cats, but a dropped 3rd strike not only keep the inning alive it also scored the Eagles 2nd run. Allyson Blose followed with a RBI single, then Aliza Hollemon walked to bring in the Eagles 4th run. The Eagles were able to escape the top of the 7th inning with just 2 runs to take the win and advance them into the 4th Round of the State Playoff’s. The Eagles improved their record to 19-5 on the Season.
HIGHLIGHTS: Taylor Carter went 2 for 3 with a run scored; Shytonia Williams went 1 for 1 with a RBI; Crystal Harrell went 1 for 3 with a run; Aliza Hollomen had a RBI; and Schae Dickson & Jordan Parker each scored a run. On the Mound Harrell recorded her 132nd strikeout of the season with 4 in the game & won her 19th game, her ERA is now .126.
