Topsail scored 26 unanswered points mainly on rushing yards as the Pirates Devin Williams had almost 200 yards on 20 carries with 2 touchdowns. Topsail started their scoring with a field goal in the 1st quarter, followed by a 47-yard passing toughdown making it 10-0 late in the 1st quarter. Pirates went up 17-0 after Wiliams scored on a 14-yard run late in the 2nd quarter. Williams then scored his 2nd in the 3rd quarter on a long 62-yard run giving Topsail a 24-0 lead. The final points scored by the Pirates were 2-points on a safety in the 4th quarter. Later in the 4th quarter the Eagles Malik Amos busted right through the middle of Topsail’s defensive line and marched 30-yards to the endzone.
The Eagles will be playing in their final non conference game of the season next Friday Night on the road against a tough 2A Fairmont that is 2-2 on their season. Then start Conference play on September 28th when they travel to Greenville Rose High School.
