Ashley Varsity Boy’s Basketball Team pick up win on road Against Laney, but fall to Greenville Rose

Boy’s hold on to 2nd Place in the Conference

• 1/29 – Ashley 64 Laney 54 – The Eagles Boy’s Varsity Basketball team were able to bounce back after their home loss to Hoggard with a road win against Laney last Tuesday Night. The Eagles got off to a slow start and found themselves tied up after the 1st quarter at 11-11.
However in the 2nd quarter the Eagles were able to get their offense going picking up 19-points, while the defense held Laney to 10 giving the Eagles a 9-point halftime lead.
After the break the Eagles let Laney get back into the game, but were able to pull back to a comfortable 6-point lead 42-36 after the 3rd quarter. The Eagles were able to extend their lead to even more in the 4th quarter going ahead by double digits and staying there.
The Eagles were able to improve to 4-1 in the Mid-Eastern Conference with the 64-54 win and take sole possession of 2nd Place.
• 2/1 – Ashley 46 Greenville Rose 60 – The Eagles Varsity Basketball team took their final long ride up to Greenville Rose High School this past Friday Night. The 1st quarter of this game was close with the Eagles taking a 1 point lead early 12-11. In the 2nd quarter the Eagles were able to extend their lead to 6-points 27-21 after outscoring Rose again 15-10. The Eagles were getting called for a lot of touch fouls in this game which lead to early foul trouble. Once Trey Eller and T.J. Williams fouled out a downward spiral started for the Eagles. In the 3rd quarter Rose got to within 2-points of the Eagles after outscoring them 18-14. But in the final quarter the Eagles had trouble scoring and stopping Rose from scoring. Greenville outscored the Eagles 21-5 in the 4th quarter to take the win 60-46. The Eagles are now 13-5 Overall and 4-2 in the Mid-Eastern Conference.
