Lady Eagles took 1st Place in the Mid-Eastern Conference after wins over Hoggard and Laney

• 5/1 – Ashley 13 Hoggard 0 – The Lady Eagles completely ran away with this game over cross-town rival Hoggard. The Ladies started off the game with 2 runs in the top of the 1st inning. After the Ladies only 0 run inning in the 2nd the Eagles posted 4 runs in the 3rd, 1 in the 4th and 6 in the 5th. Meanwhile their defense was shutting their offense down every inning allowing just 2 hits. HIGHLIGHTS: Jordan Floyd went 4 for 4 with 4 runs, 2 RBI’s and a double; Kaitlyn Adams was 1 for 1 with 3 walks, 2 runs, and a RBI; Bailey Williams was 2 for 4 with a pair of runs; J. Stergakos was 2 for 4 with a pair of runs and a pair of RBI’s; Taylor Carter was 1 for 4 with a run; Kaitlin Lothe was 1 for 4 with a run; Jordan Parker had a run; Sarah Horrell had a RBI; on the mound Sarah Horrell had 2 strikeouts in there 5 innings of work.
•5/3 – Ashley 5 Laney 3 – This game would decide if Ashley was going win the Mid-Eastern Conference out right or if Laney would take a share of 1st Place and it would happen at home on Senior Night. The Eagles held Laney scoreless for the 1st 2 innings, meanwhile their offense posted a run in the 1st inning and 3 more in the 2nd. All 3 runs in the inning were unearned runs.
However Laney was able to cut the Eagles lead to 1 run after coming up big in the top of the 3rd inning. The Eagles were able to add another point to their lead now at 5-3. That would be the last time anyone would score as a pitcher’s duel began. Both teams had opportunities to score, but came up short and the Eagles won by a final score of 5-3. The Ladies finished out their Regular Season with a 15-6 Record and were 9-1 in Conference play. HIGHLIGHTS: Bailey Williams was 2 for 3; Jordan Parker had a run; Jordan Floyd was 2 for 4 with a run; Kaitlyn Adams was 1 for 4 with a RBI; Sarah Horrell was 1 for 3, she went 7 innings on the mound, had 7 strikeouts; Aliza Hollemon had a RBI; Taylor Carter was 1 for 4 with a run.
