2013 NCHSAA 4A State Track & Field Championship Meet held this past Saturday

Jamie Druham takes 2nd in Long Jump, 6th in the 200 and 8th in the 100, Girl’s 4x800 takes 13th, Heather Keck takes 11th in Pole Vault, Bruce Kopka takes 7th and Brien Lancaster takes 14th in the Mile

It was a good showing at the 4a State Championship for the Ashley Track and Field Program. Jamie Durham became the 2nd All State recipient in the track and field      programs history by placing 2nd overall in the long jump with a leap of 18'1.5".  In the triple she placed 11th overall with a jump of 35'6".  She broke her school record in the 200m dash with a time of 25.01 and placed 6th.  In the 100 she was 8th overall with a time of 12.22. 
School record holder Heather Keck placed 13th overall with a leap of 9-0 in the Pole Vault. Another School record bit the dust in the girls 4 X 800 set by 3 freshmen and 1 sophmore.  Lindsey Williams, Morgan Marriccinni, Julia Boudreu, and Sydney Westra Placed 13th with a time of 10:22.09 and beating Hoggard who was also in the field. School Record Holder and Regional Champion Bruce Kopka placed 7th in the pole vault with a 13'00" Jump. In the 1600m School Record Holder Brien Lancaster placed 14th with a time of 4:50.
