Peyton LeCompte (center) will be heading to Lees-McRae College in Banner Elk.
Thursday, Nov. 14 is Media Day at Ashley High School. One of the girls that will be signing their letter of intent is Peyton LeCompte. Peyton is the daughter of Butch and Deb LeCompte of Carolina Beach. She has been playing lacrosse since sixth grade when she was attending Murray Middle School, where she started as a goalie, but decided she liked the field running.
She has been a very strong player during high school playing. Playing for Ashley High School she was ranked high in the state coming in a seventh place during her freshman year; fourth during 2012, this past year she ranked sixth, but the team had three forfeited games.
Since her freshman year she has been named All Conference and All Area and has been named the coaches’ Offensive MVP and was ranked 18th in the nation at the end of the 2013 season. She also plays club lacrosse with Ohio Premier. Peyton was recruited by several different schools, but, with her wanting to study nursing she decided that Lees-McRae College in Banner Elk, N.C. would be a good fit for her. They offer a great nursing program and she will play on their women’s lacrosse team.
Other Eagles standouts signing there letters of Intent will be: Felicity Havens - Women's Basketball - Troy. Felecity has been a Varsity Member of the Eagles Volleyball, Basketball and Softball Teams since she was a freshman. Taylor Carter - Softball - Mt. Olive, and Shane Shepard - Baseball - NC State.
