Mid-Night Madness

Eagles Boy’s & Girl’s Basketball Team Show off their Abilities

The Screaming Eagles Boy’s and Girl’s Basketball Teams held their Mid-Night Madness this past Thursday Night to a large home crowd.
This will be the 1st Season for Ashley Head Basketball Coach David Rutledge, who previously coached at Mallard Creek. Mallard Creek was 20-9 overall last Season and made the state Playoffs.
“Mid-Night Madness was a laid back event, which was geared toward the students” according to Coach Rutledge. The students packed the gym and enjoyed: a hot shot game, 3 point contest, a concert, and the girls and boys teams had a brief scrimmage. Coach Rutledge added, “It was a great turnout and the students and players had a great time.
Making up the Lady Eagles Varsity Basketball team this season will be: Freshman Carly Higgins and Dana Craig; Sophomores: Taylor Butts and Chyna Cotton; Juniors: Sophia Neubauer, Jada Bacchus, and Penka Heuslnkveld; Seniors: Rhaven Davis, Morgan Davis, Felecity Havens, Brittany Butts, and Kaill Rich.
Making up the Boys Varsity Basketball team this season will be: Trey Williford, Tyre Gathright, Jake Stinnett, David Hicks, Olajide Oladtidoye, Ramy Sharaf, Austin Henderson, John Smiley, Damien Batts, Eli Prindable, Preston Bryant, Ryan Keller, and Frankie Keller.
The Girls and Boys will open up their Regular Season Monday, November 25th when they travel to 71st High School, followed by another away game the next day against Havelock High School. Game Times are 6:00PM for the Girls and 7:30PM for the Boys.
