3 Wins on the Week move the Ashley Girls Varsity team to their 6th Straight

• 12/9 – Ashley 69 North Myrtle Beach 27 – The Ladies proved to be too much for North Myrtle Beach as they defeated them in front of a home crowd last Monday Night. The Ladies jumped out to a 17-8 lead after the 1st quarter and by halftime they were able to make it a 24-point lead 35-11. After halftime the Ladies continued to run away with the game outscoring North Myrtle 17-8 in both the 3rd and 4th quarters to take the win 69-27.
HIGHLIGHTS: As a team the ladies had 3 blocks, 31 steals, 22 turnovers, 11 assists, 35 rebounds, were 11 for 21 from the free throw line, 29 for 55 from the field for 52.7%. Jada Bacchus had 11-points, was 5 for 10 from the field, 1 for 2 from the free throw line, 9 rebounds, 2 assists, and 6 blocks;  Sophia Beubauer had 10-points, was 4 for 10 from the field, 2 for 2 from the free throw line, had 5 rebounds, 1 assist, and 3 steals; Brittany Butts had 10-points was 5 for 9 from the field, had 4 rebounds and 4 steals; Morgan Davis had 6-points, was 3 for 4 from the field, had 3 rebounds, 3 assists, and a steal; Felecity Havens lead all scores with 14-points on 5 for 8 from the field, 4 for 6 from the free throw line, had 2 assists, 3 steals and a block; Chyna Cotton had 4-points, a block, 2 steals, and 5 rebounds; Penka Heuslnkveld had 2-points, 5 steals, a assist and a pair of rebounds; Rhaven Davis had 4-points, 2 steals, and 3 rebounds; Taylor Butts had 6-points, 1 assist and 1 rebound; Dana Graif had 2-points and a steal; Kalll Rich had 3 steals, a assist and 2 rebounds.
• 12/10 – Ashley 69 South Brunswick 16 – The Ladies ran over South Brunswick at home last Tuesday Night in front of a home crowd. In the 1st quarter the Eagles score what would be South’s final score and took a 10-point lead 16-6. In the 2nd quarter the Eagles continued to soar outscoring South by 14 to take a 32-8 halftime lead. In the 3rd quarter the ladies countied to apply the defensive pressure and force turnovers helping them outscore South 17-2 in the 3rd quarter and 20-6 in the 4th to take the win 69-16.
HIGHLGIHTS: As a team the ladies had 28 steals, 4 blocks, 9 assists, 14 turnovers, 28 rebounds, were 6 for 12 from the free throw line, 1 for 3 from the 3-point line, 30 for 62 from the field for 48.4%. Felecity Havens 20-points 8 for 16 from the field, 4 for 6 from the free throw line, 3 rebounds, a assist and 9 steals; Sophia Neubauer 15-points 6 for 10 from the field and 1 for 1 from the 3-point line, 4 rebounds, a assist, 4 steals and 2 blocks; Dana Craig 8-points, 4 for 5 from the field, 5 rebounds a assist and a steal; Penka Heuslnkveld 7-points 3 for 3 from the field, 1 for 2 from the free throw line, 4 rebounds, a assist, and 4 steals; Morgan Davis 4-points, 4 rebounds and 2 steals; Chyna Cotton 5-points 4 for 5 from the field, 2 rebounds and 2 steals; Brittany Butts 2-points and 3 rebounds; Taylor Butts 2-points a rebound, a steal and a assist; Carly Higgins 4-ponints, a block, and a assist; Rhaven Davis 2-points, 2 steals, a assist, and a rebound; and Kall Rich had 3 steals, 2 assist and a rebound.
• 12/13 – Ashley 50 Topsail 26 – The Ladies got off to a slow start in the 1st quarter in their away game against Topsail High School this past Friday Night and were up by just 3-point 13-10. However after the Ladies tightened up the defense and allowed just 5-points in the 2nd quarter, meanwhile their offense rattled off 17-points to take a comfortable 15-point lead into halftime 30-15.
After halftime the Lady Eagles continued to dominate with a tough defense, however there scoring slowed down from the 1st half. The Ladies outscored Topsail 10-4 in the 3rd quarter and 10-7 in the 4th to take the win 50-26. The Ladies are now 6-1 on the season and 2-0 in Conference Play. This was the Ladies 6th straight win. The Ladies will travel to Durham for a game on Wednesday against Northern Durham and they will be at home Friday Night at 6PM against Hillside High School. After the Christmas Break the Ladies will be competing in the Leon Brogden Tournament with their 1st game against Tuscarora High School a team out of Maryland. The tournament will conclude on Saturday, December 28th.
HIGHLIGHTS: Sophomore Chyna Cotton lead all scorers with 11, Sophia Neubauer and Rich Kalll each scored 10 points, Felecity Havens had 8, Morgan Davis 7, and Penka Heuslnkveld had 4.
