We thought we would further explain Fall Ball and answer some questions that we've had so far. Fall Ball is used as an instructional tool for the kids. It's also a way to give kids the opportunity to play in games and game situations that will allow them to further their baseball development.
There will be no more than 1 practice per week and no more than 2 games per week. There will be no games or practices on the weekends because we know many kids choose the fall to play soccer and football and those sport's games take place on the weekend.
Just like MLB uses its minor league system to develop players, PIYB's Fall Ball is structured the same way. Kids will be placed on teams named for minor league teams, such as Durham Bulls and Carolina Mudcats. We have extended registration through September 20, but will go ahead and start practices for kids already signed up next Monday, September 16. Please feel free to send us questions if you have them and if your son or daughter is not signed up there is still opportunity to do so. The registration fee is $50 (no late fee for Fall Ball).
We have attached a registration form for your convenience and as always they can be dropped off at the CB Rec Center during normal business hours. Thanks so much, and we look forward to fun Fall Ball season!
